Abstract

Asits central purpose, this article encompasses, without mojar complexity, the concept of "risk2; making a brief etymological tour of the word, going through the semiological interpretation given by the navigator in this sailar s/ang, and then introducing the technicalíty that demands to be able to treat and líve with him. This article does not carry an academic intention, much less the position of authority; simply, it pursues the idea of reminding readers, members of the guild that despite our excellent vocation for safety in our maritime and port work, we do not owe ourselves to safety, but to risk and, therefore, we work in it and for it.
