Abstract

This paper is an abstract from a research work submitted to get the degree in anthropology in Universidad del Magdalena in 2018. It was aimed to problematize and raise awareness of an approach to the notion of Maritime Cultural Landscape from Taganga, Magdalena. It was decided to cope with the change and transformation processes that have occurred in three historical moments: prehispanic, colonial and republican. A combined methodology was used involving an ethnographical work, an archaeological one, and a documental support. Taganga was chosen due to being a village suffering interesting mutations from the anthropological point of view. It was conclude in this study that there are ground and submerged cultural remains that allows to prove the notion of Taganga as a village with a maritime culture from prehispanic periods. Currently, cultural practices as traditional fishing are seriously threated by new economical logics
