Abstract

The flood zones for Buenaventura city were delimited by using the numerical model TIME. The obtained results allowed determining the eventually most dangerous epicenter, inside the Colombo-Ecuatorian fault, for this poputation. Taking into account this origin, the impact of events with different magnitudes and tide levels v^as studied. The study of both, vulnerability conditions and advantages over other towns, suggests Buenaventura as a possible operations center, for near towns, in the case of an emergency.
