Abstract

The lack of software of Information Geographical Systems GIS in the port captainicies and the possibility of giving the cartographic and alphanumeric information generated in the Center Control Contamination of the Pacific CCCP, useful for the development of tasks characteristic of a lands system administration of inside the jurisdiction of DIMAR on the Coast Colombian Pacific is the reach that pursues the Atlas of the Coast Colombian Pacific. Logical and physical models in those that are based the design are centered in the development of a computer application with funcionalidad of a geographical information system of desk (GIS Desktop) that allows to the dependences of DIMAR that don't possess specialized software the realization of tasks like: i) The extraction of physical, artificial economic information of the existent constructions in the domain of the DIMAR, ii) the generation of statistical reports of occupation, iii) The calculation of dimensions (area, perimeter), that allow the identification of total and partial areas, iv) The generation of maps with layout and you climbs personalized in digital or similar format and v) the generation of specialized space analysis on the detailed cartography or on the satellite images incorporated tha allow to identify the existent problems of legality. In this sense the first version of the Atlas of the Coast Colombian Pacific, picks up approximately among alphanumeric and cartographic data 57% of the total of the 1300 kilometers that conform the Coast Pacific, inside user's interface, developed with compatible programming components with the available hardware in the port captaincies (Visual Basic 6.0, Macromedia Flash and Caris letter), facilitating the distribution of the application in CD Rom, in executables of easy installation that short term they will be replaceable for an of distributed development that will make of this tool an element but of a system interoperable with institutional vision.
