Abstract

Between June, 1983 and July, 1984, "La Armada Nacional de Colombia", through "Centro de Investigaciones Oceanográficas (CIOH)", the co-financiation of COLCIENCIAS and the parcipatión of Nacional, Jorge Tadeo Lozano universities and international as Harvard and americans states organizations (OEA), developed four (4) interdisciplinarias oceanografic cruises to the insular and oceanic area, the colombian carribbean, San Andrés and Providence archipielago. The oceanografic cruises were carried out on board the oceanografics investigation ships, ARC "MALPELO" and ARC "PROVIDENCIA" inside of the national program "oceanografics conditions", whose fundamental objetives are referred to the Knowledge and description of the phisics, chemicals and biological characteristics of the colombian oceans, as well as its interrelations and temporal space variations.
