Abstract
This paper presents the results ofaplication ofa methodic for the quality control of the oceanographic information, based an opinion on the superposition off/S curves and in the statistical characteristics ofthe fields. The processed information was collected along (he oceanographic cruise Oceano V, that was carried out on board of the ARC Providencia" in August 1981 in (he Colombian Caribbean. The methodicwas appliedunder (he consultantship ofscientific partners of the Governmental Oceanologic Institute of Odesa, Ucrania, with the cooperation of (he Centro de Investigaciones Oceanográficas e Hidrográficas. As complement, (he methodic of optimum interpolation that allows to recover and correct the information in (he disired points with (he minimum of error is discribed, anda quantitative analysis of the water masses in the Colombian caribbean is carried out, that has allowed to define (he characteristics of (he water masses in (he area.
