Abstract

The oceanographic study of Colombian Pacific waters, around 400.000 km2, is framed with in the Regional Program for the Study of the "El Niño" phenomenon (ERFEN), in which Colombia has adquired the commitment of monitoring the oceanographic and meteorological condictions. This study crnaryzes the termohaline characteristics in both ¡he March - April and August - September periods of 1984 (dry and humid season respectivery). The data was obtained with a temperature, pressure and conductiviry (CTD) tool, during the Pacific XIV- ERFEN XI and Pacific XV - ERFEN XII cruises. Volumes where ¡he different water masses present from the sulface to a depth of 1.000 meters in both seasons. The coefficients wich show the mean standarized TS curve corresponding lo the stations Buenaventura - Malpelo profile, using the minimum squares method for a porynomial function S = S (T).
