Abstract

The delimitation and characterization of landscape units were carried out in two sectors, Ensenada el Tigre-El Embrujo and between Punta Soldado- Golfo Tortugas, Buenaventura, department of Valle del Cauca. From the identification of natural and anthropic components that make up the landscape and with geographic information systems help the landscape units were delimited by vegetation cover, geomorphology and mixed or riparian units using spatial analysis tools. These units were characterized and classified in terms of quality and fragility, contributing significantly to the knowledge and understanding of these complex geographic spaces which, in turn, will serve as an instrument for the organization and management of soil use planning.
