Abstract

This survey was done in order to increase the knowlegment about the larvae and eggs of severa fish species. To reach such aim, samples were carried out abcard the B/O A. R. C. Providencia. We used this samples to determinate the abundance and distribution of fish larvae and eggs in Colombian Pacific Ocean during november 1988. In this study were performed 23 station , 14 of then during the day and the resting, during the night. Samples were preserved in borax neutralized phormol ( 4% ). The sampling place, time and physichemical parameters (such as salinity, temperature and disolved oxygen) were recorded m in each station. The results show the higher distribution of fish larvae were in oceanic stations, instead the eggs have a uniform distribution along the Pacific Ocean. The 15 species founded were distributed in 13 families with low abundance value. In other hand, 9 kinds of eggs founded show medium abundance value. The eggs percentage was higher than larvae percentage.
