Abstract

The Colombian Pacific Coast, from the year 1979, bilí with an official fact of extensión of 1300 kilometers. The coastal dynamism, the surf, the sedimentation processes, among others, make that this figure cannot be determined in absolute terms, and consequently a process of bringing up to date is needed. But the difficult conditions of the coast colombian Pacifies hinder the cartography generation to establish its form and current magnitude. It consentsof the problem and of the necessityof a solution the CentroControl Contaminación of the Pacifies, CCCP, implement a methodology based on the generation of a cartographic base with the available means for their development, satellite images, aerophotos and existent maps of the región supported in the holistic visión of the national politicians for the sustainable development of the coastal area and the variety of existent approaches to define the form and extensión of the coast. The work methodology, begins in determining an adjusted interpretation approach to the definitions of very well-known authors in the marine sciences, easily drawingin the denominated three sources of information 'limits temporary earth-sea'. The interpretation of the one limits temporary earth sea, in an extensión like that of the colombian Pacifies makes necessary the use of satellite images, with an appropriate space resolution (Landsat), as consequence of the permanent cloudsin the región the workis centered in the determination of the algorithms that you/they allow to identifythe objective, overcoming the initialconditions of the images, with the support of air aerophotos to reduce the similarity of the ghastly signatures in the deltas of the rivers, for finally to homológate a cartographic system as input, for the generation of a vector, as current approach in the way and extensiónof the coast Pacifies colombian.
