Abstract

The analysis of the sedimenta gathered in the area of the Rosario islands showed clearly the invasion of a calcareous facies by a terrigenous facies resulting of the delta of the Dique prodelta progradation. The interaction of the Panamá Counter-Current with the superficial currents supporta, some times in the year, the particles transport by suspension, and thue, Increases the invesion phenomenon of the archipielago by the terrigenous facies. Furthemore, the morphological analysis allowed to fínd sedimental trapa in the archipielago.
